Trinity, oil on canvas, £870, plus postage and packing

Trinity (2)

God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit are at the heart of the Christian faith. I have struggled to understand how one divine entity can have three distinct personalities, but struggling to understand has enriched and deepened my appreciation of who God is and how he loves. A portion of this divine mystery is revealed in the passage below in Matthew 28.  I have painted a similar Trinity picture before, but wanted to paint a different design, using the skills I have developed since I painted the first one twelve years previously.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28 : 18-20

The painting is oil on a canvas primed with white acrylic paint. The outer edges are textured using an acrylic heavy body gel. The canvas measures 60cm square, is 2cm deep and  is painted white around the edges.

Painting tip- “A different effect is created when you layer blue paint over yellow which has dried, than when you allow the wet colours to mix. This painting went through 10 or more stages of drying between layers. Both methods can work well. It depends on the effect you want to achieve. “ Sue Newham
