When Newtown Town Council announced that the traditional Christmas lights switch on event would have to go online, everyone was disappointed. However, lantern making kits of various types were given out to encourage local people to light up their windows. I decided to make lanterns for our front windows, which are directly on one of the main routes through town and the lanterns are now in situ. They look interesting during the day but very beautiful at night!
