“It is no small thing to paint a meadow, as every plant has to be painted in from the background forwards, paying attention to scale and perspective and making more distant flowers more muted. It’s not surprising that I ran out of enthusiasm half way down the painting and it remained unfinished for quite a while! However, I rose to the challenge once more and am very pleased with the result.” Sue Newham
